The Buy Local message is an enduring call to action for the public and private sectors, businesses, government entities and consumers. Buying locally grown, produced or manufactured goods and services stimulates economic growth, which in turn helps businesses to grow, thereby creating jobs.
Proudly South African's mandate also includes promoting national pride, patriotism and social cohesion, which can be achieved when we showcase local products and services at events such as the Buy Local Summit & Expo.
The focus of Day 2 is on the business of local procurement under the theme ‘Local Procurement: Policy or Preference’. Also free to attend this is going to be booked out very quickly. Who should be doing more to promote buying local, the government or private sector? Find out what business and government officials think in a panel facilitated by Andile Khumalo. And find out which political party pledges to do more for local procurement in their 2019 election manifestos in what promises to be a fiery discussion hosted by talk show host Redi Tlhabi.
