With innovative capabilities to handle thousands of tons daily and growing demand for its premium-quality dates in both domestic and international markets, Tzur Farm sought to enhance real-time visibility of pallet movements across several storage zones within its operational site.
Before the solution deployment, Tzur Farm relied on manual processes to track pallets moving between cold storage, sorting, and packaging zones. With thousands of pallets shifting daily during peak periods and an increasing need to minimise repetitive manual labour, the company sought a robust, fully automated solution to enhance accuracy, reduce errors, and ensure continuous pallet tracking synchronisation with its ERP system.
Automated pallet identification
ZetesMedea ImageID, powered by machine vision technology, uses smart cameras positioned at the entry and exit gates of each of the different zones. These cameras know to read barcodes from a distance while pallets are moving, capturing automatically pallet’s entry or exit direction from the different zones. Currently deployed in four entry gates, and three exit gates: two cold storage zones and one sorting and packaging zone, the system verifies pallet identity and ensures compliance with ERP commands in real time. Each pallet movement between zones is instantly recorded and validated within Tzur Farm’s ERP system. This automation enhances traceability, accelerates workflows, reduces manual effort, and minimizes the risk of operational errors.
