Brussels, 16 February 2022 – As of 1st March 2022, Pierre Lambert, current Chief Financial Officer of Zetes, will take over the role of CEO. After more than 35 years building up and leading Zetes, Alain Wirtz, Chief Executive Officer, will leave the company on 28th February 2022.
Zetes, one of the flagships of the Belgian economy and pioneer of the barcode, was founded in 1984 and employs over 1,300 people across the EMEA region. Zetes’ geographical expansion started in 1992 with France, and today, the company is present in 22 countries. In the early 2000s, the People Identification Division of Zetes was created, which won important contracts such as the Belgian eID. This was followed in 2005 by an IPO on Euronext Brussels. In 2017, Zetes became a wholly owned subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation.
Pierre Lambert has been the CFO of Zetes for more than 20 years and has been working closely with Alain Wirtz to grow the company to where it is today. Drawing on his strong leadership and his expertise leveraging the company’s strategic and financial strengths, he will drive further technological and business progress.
