Brussels (Belgium), 29 July 2010 - Zetes (Euronext Brussels: ZTS), the European leader in automatic identification solutions and services for goods and people, announces that it has enhanced its ImageID traceability solution, Visidot.  Using ImageID technology, Visidot identifies hundreds of barcodes instantaneously and performs shipment verification and other business applications. The solution now also integrates IP cameras (Gigabit Ethernet) to optimise usage of hardware and software resources and reduce the total cost of ownership.

  • Based on ImageID technology, Visidot is capable of identifying hundreds of barcodes instantaneously, with 100% accuracy
  • Integration of IP cameras enables control of multiple Visidot gates by a single processing unit, through the LAN
  • 100% accurate read rate even in harsh environments.

Based on ImageID technology, Visidot automatically captures large field of view images, detecting and decoding multiple barcodes simultaneously, with 100% accuracy. At the same time, it compares the barcode information to shipping orders and gives operators real-time visual alerts about any discrepancy as well as missing or unreadable labels. Digital images are stored for proof of delivery.

Visidot is particularly valuable for the fresh food processing industry, where delivery lead times are short and shipping errors often irreversible. Visidot drastically reduces the entire shipping verification process time, with 100% accuracy and no additional tag cost.

The integration of IP cameras enables control of multiple cameras by a single Visidot processing unit placed in the IT room, through a Gigabit Ethernet network. This is particularly valuable for dock-door areas with multiple reading points and limited floor space.

Alain Wirtz, CEO of Zetes says:  “The Visidot solution is unique in the market and offers great benefits to many sectors, especially in the food and beverage industries. For this reason, specialists at our ImageID Innovation Centre continue to invest in extending the functionalities of this solution, ensuring our customers gain the maximum benefit from their investments. The solution integrates very well with the other automatic identification solutions within our portfolio, and offers a good alternative to RFID in certain environments.”

The Visidot solution has already been successfully installed at key accounts around Europe, such as Emsland Frischgeflügel in Germany, Seachill in the United Kingdom, Mix Buffet and Groupe Jacquet in France, Campofrío in Spain, etc.

In partnership with Seachill, Visidot has recently been shortlisted as a finalist in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Excellence Awards 2010 within the Materials Handling and Technology category.
