Portiuncula Hospital sets the standard for positive patient identification

Zetes’ automated positive patient identification solution enables staff to access patient medical information instantaneously via a machine readable barcode. The solution is fully compliant with the EU’s Blood Directive. By improving patient identification standards, the automated system also helps eliminate transcription and/or reading errors associated with handwritten labels and the risks of incorrect treatment which can result from them.

State-of-the-art solution
The solution includes highly advanced Zebra LP2844Z desktop printers, a comprehensive Hospital Administration System and integrated label design software. Following a successful trial, Portiuncula Hospital is planning to use the wristbands with all adult in-patients. The Zebra printers are also scheduled for introduction at the hospital’s laboratories for durable, high-volume label printing.
